JB Heater’s Finned Strip Heaters are designed for both forced air heating (such as in ducts) and natural convection heating (mounted at the bottom of cabinet-type ovens). The addition of fins increases the heat transfer surface area, allowing for higher wattage compared to standard strip heaters. These heaters are ideal for applications that require a hot air source, such as heating tunnels and dryers, and should be used with a substantial airflow for optimal performance.
As component heaters, finned strip heaters offer efficient heat transfer in a variety of settings. Steel fin strip heaters are particularly well-suited for industrial heating applications and can be easily controlled using heating control panels, mechanical thermostats, or cost-effective bi-metal thermostats installed directly on the heater surface. The heaters come equipped with mounting holes for secure installation, and terminal connections extend from the sheath for easy electrical hookup. Alternatively, lead wires extending from one end can be requested, offering flexibility for connecting to a temperature controller.
The heater’s core is filled with highly-compacted MgO insulation, which conducts heat from the nickel-chrome element wire to the outer sheath. The fins are spaced to maximize surface contact, enabling faster heat transfer into the air.
Would you like assistance in selecting the optimal configuration for your finned strip heater setup, or do you have a specific application in mind for which you’d like advice?
