THERMOCOUPLES
people are viewing this right now
JB Heater manufactures high-quality temperature sensing devices known as thermocouples. A thermocouple is a sensor specifically designed for measuring temperature, consisting of two dissimilar metals joined at one end. When the junction of these metals experiences a change in temperature, a voltage is generated, which can be interpreted by a temperature controller, high-limit device, or display unit.
Common Constructions
- Tube and Wire Construction:
- This type utilizes an empty stainless steel tube with a wire running inside. The welded tip at the end incorporates the wire junction, making it suitable for temperatures up to 480ºC.
- Ideal for applications requiring moderate temperature sensing.
- Mineral Insulated Construction:
- This construction features a highly compacted stainless steel sheath containing solid conductors encased in magnesium oxide insulation.
- It allows for a wider variety of diameters and enables bending of the sensors in the field, accommodating temperatures up to 1200ºC.
- This design is particularly advantageous for high-temperature applications where flexibility is needed.
Versatility and Options
JB Heater’s thermocouples are available in a wide range of physical packages, with various lead wire, housing, and mounting options to suit diverse application needs. Whether you require standard configurations or customized solutions, our thermocouples provide reliable and accurate temperature measurement for your specific requirements.
